Donna Currey Barnes, Advanced Certified Paralegal, GRI – Brokerage
Donna Currey Barnes has been a Commercial Real Estate agent for Westar Commercial Realty since 1993, and is a former partner. Donna received her Real Estate License in 1979. She joined First American Title Company in Lubbock, Texas as office manager/escrow officer. She moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX metroplex area continuing her employment with First American Title Company Corporate office. During her tenure with First American, she had extensive experience working with the Secretary of Housing and Urban development and Home Equity. Donna joined Fort Worth Title Company, Title USA in Grapevine, Texas for the opportunity of acting as Office manager/Escrow officer. After eight years in the Title Insurance industry, Donna joined Savings of America as a Mortgage Loan Officer in Dallas, TX. At the time, Savings of America was the second largest S&L in the Nation, and represented Adjustable Rate Mortgage Loans tied to the 11th. district cost of funds index. Donna founded Mortgage Connection Services, creating correspondent lending services, and was approved by lenders such as Empire of America, Norwest Mortgage, and CitiBank. Upon Donna’s return to Lubbock, TX, she worked as an independent contractor for Resolution Trust Corp. auditing S&L commercial files for missing documents. Donna is a graduate of Texas Tech University, carrying the Advanced Certified Paralegal designation in Real Estate Principals,(ACP). She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants. Donna is a Graduate of Realtors Institute, (GRI), and formerly maintained a Group I Insurance license. As Chairman, Donna represented the Commercial Services Division of the Lubbock Association of Realtors for two terms. She has been a recipient of the City Wide Pride Award on two occasions. Donna performs sales and leasing in all facets of the Real Estate industry, including, but not limited to, land, office buildings, retail, industrial, multifamily, and build to suit. Donna enjoys writing poetry, songs, and is a published songwriter. She and her sister were co-owners in a recording studio in a suburb of Nashville, TN, called "Ladies In Red Recording". |
